Did you write Death Note?
No, that was Tsugumi Ohba, with Takeshi Obata providing the artistry.
I receive enough comments and messages assuming that I am Death Note's author to warrant this being the number one question to clarify. I'm just a fan like the rest of you. Though I am guilty of fan-fiction. What did you write?
I'm the author of the It Matters series of Death Note fan-fiction about Mello and Matt.
My Mello/Matt fan-fiction novels and short stories have appeared on-line under various pseudonyms, primarily Matilda, Matti, MRSJeevas or MRSJ. I'm also the main Death Note blogger here. Isn't Mrs Jeevas a bit sad? How can we take you seriously with a name like that?!
It's not Mrs Jeevas. It's MRSJeevas, a deliberate sleight of acronym hand, which seemed like a good idea at the time. A pseudo-joke/literary hint, which kind of stuck, because the site upon which I registered under that name was the long-running one of all thus far. I kind of regret not logging my new account as Matti now.
Whatever made you think I was supposed to be taken seriously? In fact, why so serious? Call me Matti, if it makes you feel better about life. But Matti is just as bad! You're naming yourself after Matt Jeevas!
No. I've actually been Matilda since before Mail Jeevas was born (in fiction or fictional fact). I'm THAT old.
Where do you get your news about Death Note?
I've been in the Death Note fandom for years, so I have a wide circle of friends keeping tabs on the news and gossip, sharing it with the rest of us. This now includes the extensive Death Note News readership, who might tell me about things in comments or private messages.
I'm also subscribed to dozens of RSS feeds, mailing lists, Twitter streams and the rest, all with the potential to alert me to the latest Death Note news. Finally, I get occasional the tip off from folk close to the source and/or involved in Death Note projects or events. This is becoming more common as this website takes off. |

Post your private communication using the contact form above, or via our contact page. Or leave a message on a blog entry. Or stalk me on one of my social media 'hoods, all linked from the top of any page here.
How do I contribute to the Death Note Month of... feature?
If it's an article, essay, media file, blog entry, guest post, music etc, then there's a submission filedrop on our contact page. If it's just a link or short heads up kind of thing, then use the contact form on the same page. Or the one above. They're all going to the same place, if I'm honest.
Do you accept guest bloggers on Death Note News? Or one-off article writers?
Yes. In fact, you'll be afforded the cyber equivalent of a red carpet to welcome you on board. All I ask is that you keep it friendly and write content suitable for readers of all ages. I have affiliate links, particularly in the gift shop section, and a requirement of that is to keep everything PG.
Can I become a regular Death Note News columnist?
Potentially. Contact us with your idea and how it might pan out and we'll talk.
