For most of us, this is where it all began - reading the manga in monthly installments. Death Note first appeared in Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2003 through to May 2008. Those chapters were collected together in volumes, translated into dozens of different languages and sold throughout the world. They haven't been out of print since.
In addition, there have been novels based on the story, plus guides and other reference manuals providing insights through that game changing saga.

NB We're not at all sure that this Death Note novel is canon, or whether it should properly be filed a few tabs along in fan-fiction.
It is fundamentally a Chinese adaption set in the Death Note universe, utilizing many of the familiar characters including Light Yagami and L. There's also apparently a Death Notebook being put the usual use. We say 'apparently' because the novel is in Chinese and none of us here speak that language, let alone read the book. All we know is that it was properly published and available in shops, though the publisher isn't any company generally associated with rights to the Death Note franchise. For now it will stay here, until some kind passing Chinese speaker can help us correctly categorize it. |
